Minutes of the meeting of the Council held at Goring Heath Parish Hall on Tuesday June 11th 2024 at 8.00pm
PRESENT:
Councillors: Liz Collas (LC Chair), Peter Dragonetti (PD Vice Chair), Peter Burdon (PB), Martin Wise (MW) Mike Holland (MH)
Officers: Emma Burdon (EB Clerk)
1.APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for inability to attend the meeting were received from Hilary Dewey
2.MINUTES
The minutes of the Council meeting held on Tuesday 14th May 2024 at Goring Heath Parish Hall were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chair of the meeting.
3.DECLARATION OF INTERESTS
It was noted that PB, PD, LC and MW had all completed their Declaration of Interests Forms. MH agreed to e mail his in due course.
4.PUBLIC FORUM
There were no members of the public present.

6.CORRESPONDENCE FOR INFORMATION
None
7.KEY AREAS REQUIRING DISCUSSION
The White Lion
LC confirmed that the Council had not submitted a report either confirming or denying its support of ACV status and that it was now too late to comment. To be discussed at a later date.
The Fete
It was agreed that the fete had been a great success. PB confirmed that £345 had been raised which was approximately half the amount raised the previous year. All agreed that footfall had been lower than in 2023 and that marketing for the event should be increased next year. Everyone thanked PB for his hard work in organising such a great day
Crays Pond Project.
Nothing to report.
Tine Pit Pond update.
MW confirmed that at a recent informal survey, Greater Crested newts had been found. MW is to organise a formal survey of the pond.
Traffic Speed watch.
MH confirmed that some Councilors had responded to the recent consultation and hoped that all would respond in due course.
Government Grant for Gov.uk domain
All present agreed that it was important that we switch to a gov.uk domaine. EB is to research the various government approved Registrars and their costs.
8.GOVERNANCE MATTERS
None
- FINANCE AND BANK RECONCILIATION
The bank reconciliation statement was circulated and approved and signed by the Chair
- GORING HEATH MAINTENANCE
Grass and Maintenance.
PB reported that grass cuttings were being dumped on the verges along Goring Heath Road again, despite a letter having been sent to the residents in the past requesting that they refrain from so doing. PB is to drop another letter off to all residents in Hods Corner. LC is to ask the paths’ maintenance team to go and inspect.

Footpaths and Rights of Way
PB pointed out that the path at Hods Lane was very overgrown and difficult to walk. LC agreed to get the paths’ maintenance team onto it.

PD confirmed that there was nothing to report
9.THE NEWSLETTER/ WEBSITE /SOCIAL MEDIA
A huge thank you to Louise Shearer for another great newsletter.
LC and PB both confirmed that we need to get an improved website and that this would be a project for the coming year.
12.PARISH HALL
The Parish Hall Committee are still considering what action should be taken regarding the roof and insulation.
13.PLANNING MATTERS AND UNAUTHORIASED DEVELOPMEMNTS
The Planning Application for Rose Cottage, Path Hill was discussed, and it was agreed there were “No Strong Views.” LC agreed to notify SODC .
